Environment & Energy

Large-scale energy and environmental projects taken from planning through financing to working operation.

Large-Scale Energy And Environmental Delivery

We plan, develop and implement large-scale energy and environmental initiatives alongside financially strong, goal-oriented partners. From concept through to implementation the work spans feasibility, financing structures and delivery, so that projects create both economic and ecological value.

Projects at this scale fail in predictable places: between a feasibility study and a business case a lender will accept, and between financial close and a contractor who can actually build it. Our role is to hold those two joins together.

Three Stages, One Continuous Responsibility

Large projects are usually handed between specialists at exactly the points where they are most fragile. We carry the same team across all three stages.

Stage One

Planning & Feasibility

Scope, siting, technical requirement and the regulatory path, tested against what the site and the jurisdiction will actually permit. This is where most of the eventual cost is fixed, and where the least money is usually spent.

  • Resource and site assessment
  • Permitting route confirmed with the authority
  • Grid connection and offtake tested early
  • Technical concept costed to a defined tolerance

Stage Two

Financing & Structuring

The commercial architecture that lets the project proceed: ownership, offtake, debt and equity, and the risk allocation between them. We prepare the case and take it to the institutions that will fund it.

  • Financial model built to lender standard
  • Offtake and power purchase structuring
  • Risk allocated to the party able to carry it
  • Debt and equity introductions across both regions

Stage Three

Delivery & Operation

Procurement, construction oversight and commissioning, then the handover into steady operation with the documentation, spares and trained personnel the asset needs to keep running.

  • Contractor selection and contract negotiation
  • Construction and commissioning oversight
  • Performance testing against the contracted figures
  • Operational handover with training and documentation

Six Capabilities Across The Project Life

The disciplines a project of this size needs at once, held by one team rather than assembled from four.

Project Planning

Shaping scope, timelines and technical requirements for energy and environmental initiatives at scale.

Environmental Programmes

Developing initiatives that hold up environmentally and commercially over the full life of the asset.

Financing Structures

Identifying suitable financing and establishing the structures that allow large projects to proceed.

Partner Alignment

Matching projects with financially strong, goal-oriented stakeholders across Europe and the Gulf.

Permitting & Consent

Navigating the environmental consent process in jurisdictions where the sequence is rarely written down.

Grid & Offtake

Securing connection and offtake terms early, before they become the constraint on the whole programme.

Projects That Earn Their Place Economically And Environmentally

A project that is only environmentally sound will not be financed, and one that is only commercially sound will not be consented. Both, or neither.

Delivering At This Scale

What sponsors and partners ask before an energy or environmental programme begins.

Umm Al Quwain Free Zone, United Arab Emirates

info@nexus-holding.ae

Utility-scale energy and municipal-scale environmental infrastructure, typically from the mid eight figures upward. Below that the structuring work we do is disproportionate to the capital involved, and a smaller adviser will serve you better.

Not directly. We structure the capital and introduce the partners who invest. Keeping our position separate from the equity is what allows us to give a sponsor an honest read on the risk.

Our core corridor runs between Western Europe and the Gulf states. Where a project sits outside that corridor we will say so, rather than learn the jurisdiction at your expense.

From first feasibility to commissioning, three to six years is normal at this scale, with financial close usually falling somewhere between month eighteen and month thirty. Anyone promising materially faster is discounting the permitting.

Grid connection and offtake, by a wide margin. A project can hold consent, land and finance and still be unbuildable because the connection date sits four years out or the offtake price will not carry the debt. We test both in the first eight weeks, before anything else is committed, because everything downstream depends on the answer.

We manage the process and appoint the specialists, rather than carrying out the ecological and hydrological survey work in-house. Keeping the assessment with an independent consultancy is deliberate: an authority is entitled to ask whether the party managing the programme also produced the evidence supporting it.

Phase by phase, against defined deliverables, with a break point at the end of each. That keeps the commitment proportionate to what has been proven so far and means neither side is locked into a structure agreed before the project was properly understood.
