Almost never. Most of what we deliver sits alongside the systems already running and integrates through their existing interfaces. Replacing a working ERP is a multi-year programme in its own right and rarely belongs inside a modernisation budget.

Instrumentation and monitoring work is done live in most cases. Control changes are scheduled into existing maintenance windows. Where a genuine shutdown is needed we identify it during the assessment, not during delivery.

A stage assessment and roadmap is a fixed-fee engagement of four to six weeks. The first delivery phase is usually scoped to pay for itself within twelve to eighteen months, and if we cannot see that return we will tell you before you commit.

The programmes we run more often redeploy people than remove them, from operating equipment to governing it. If a business case depends on headcount reduction in order to work, we will say so explicitly rather than leave it unstated.

Usually because the previous programme was funded as one long commitment. We sequence work so each phase produces a measurable return before the next is approved, which means a change of budget or sponsor pauses the programme rather than killing it.
